In regards to your comments regarding how to contact Page admin/creators, let us not forget the age we live in and the ease of which we can connect with people around the globe. Furthermore, if a page admin wants there name to be known it will be featured on the page, if only subtly.
Of Facebooks few number of pages over 1M fans, I personally control a significant number and if not my pages, were created by associates of myself.
In terms of the squatting issues, I think you will find that Facebook heavily regulates this. Additionally, as Facebook does not hand out vanity url’ automatically the squatting issue is almost irrelevant.
