Facebook gives embedded posts a visual renovation

Facebook rolled out embedded posts last year, and today the company has announced a more aesthetic redesign.

Now, photos and videos that are embedded will come out on top and be the main focus. In addition, these kinds of posts from Facebook will be able to load faster. Publishers looking to embed a Facebook post can choose the width of the post.

Facebook Software Engineer Dave Capra blogged about the new capabilities:

Embedded Posts let you add public posts from Facebook to your blog or website. Today, we’re introducing a new design, faster load times, and per publisher default widths to make Embedded Posts even better.

Posts that include media content such as photos and videos usually get more engagement on Facebook. As a result, we’ve updated Embedded Posts to display images and videos above the post’s text and other content.
