Chicagoland Toyota Dealers Offering A Free Prius To One Local Facebook Fan

Chicagoland Toyota Dealers are giving local fans of their Facebook page a chance to win a new Toyota Prius at the upcoming Chicago Auto Show. Anyone hoping to have a shot at the free car can enter through the Prius Giveaway tab on the Chicagoland Toyota Dealers fan page.

The contest, of course, is also a way for the dealers to connect with local users — potential car purchasers — on Facebook.

The giveaway is being run through an application built into the newly-launched page, and entrants must become fans of the Chicagoland Toyota Dealers page to become eligible to win. The rules state that the winner must be a resident of certain counties in Illinois and Indiana so the field of potential winners is fairly limited.

The app is fairly straightforward, with entrants only needing to enter some personal information as well as whether or not they intend to buy a car within the next 6 months. Inviting friends to take part in the contest increases an entrants’ chance to win, as well as giving the dealers more leads on potential customers. The contest will probably also benefit from the popularity of the Prius on Facebook; the fan page for the car currently has close to 49,000 fans, as well as some popular interactive elements.

Since the winner must be local to the 30 dealers that make up the group, the contest could end up generating some valuable information on residents of the area that are looking to purchase a car in the near future. Getting leads is always a priority for auto dealerships, and this application appears to be a powerful tool to target a very specialized demographic and collect information that could translate into future sales.

The Chicagoland Dealers will be drawing the names of 10 semi-finalists one at a time building up to the Chicago Auto Show. Those semi-finalists will be invited to the 102nd Chicago Auto Show and given an envelope; the winner’s envelope will contain a picture of the car.

Hello, my name is Sandy and I am a single mom of a 2 year old girl. I been in a abusive and mentally relationship for many years. I finally got out and now with my family. I’m starting my life fresh but its been hard on me. I recently lost my job at the most wonderful job I ever had. I love working and helping people. I’m always thinking of others before me. I’m trying so hard to save up to buy a car so I can get around when I get my job and most important for my little girl to enjoy her life. She loves to go out to places even if its just to the grocery. We either walk together or she sits on her stroller. Since we don’t have a car, every little stop we go, she gets really excited. And I love th way she smiles and gets happy for the little things I do for her. I been feeling guilty lately for leaving her dad because of my needs. I sometimes wonder does she blame me for leaving her dad for abusing me. Or maybe I should of just stay for her sake. I just had wish if I had a car I would take her anywhere and be able to do things with her without being afraid to ask my strict parents for their permission to use the car. I would just love mom and daughter time only. Thank you for letting me share my story with you.

I am writing this letter for my daughter-in-law and grandbaby. On January 10,2010 my son was brutally murdered. At the time of his death he was trying to save for a car. His car had been totaled and he only had liability because it was a very old car. His car was not drivable so he had to call on others for transportation. He had a one month old daughter at the time and a wife. My son was 22 and his wife is only 19. My grandbaby is now 7 months old and she and her mom live each day depending on others to get them where they need to go. This is often impossible because I live 25 miles away and work 3-11 shift. I see my daughter-in-law going through severe depression due to the loss and isolation. Because of the way my son was murdered, my daughter-in-law needs to be able to have access to a car in the event this person was to find her new address. I know there are many people in need of this vehicle but I saw your commercial and thought it wouldn’t hurt to enter for my grandbaby and her mom. Thank you, Kim

I know you guys will look at the letters that’s much touchen then mines. Aleast I try and I won’t stop till my dreams come true. And me and my son don’t ever have 2 worry about when the car note is due. Cause if we will we don’t have 2 worry about that. I really wish u guys can give more then just one car away that will make everyone day. But I know that’s not possible. I am so dealing with my son having ADHD its a very hard thing 2 deal with some times you don’t know what kind of day he is going 2 have which makes it very hard for me. In school its sometimes bad. But thank God I am a strong woman who don’t let anything get 2 me. I keep my head up and keep going. That’s all I can do. Hope u take the time out 2 read my letter. If I don’t win that toyota its ok maybe nexts time it will be me. Thanks

A few months ago our son called us from California. He asked us if we would like to have his Prius with 90,000 miles on it. He said “It is just too good to trade in and probably the best car he ever owned”. He shipped it the next week and we have enjoyed it ever since., He knew that we are on a very limited retirement income and he felt it would be so efficient that we could afford to travel more. He was right. We have traveled all over Maine to all the beautiful places we had never seen before and plan to continue.
The savings in gas makes all the difference in the world to us. plus the fact that it is so comfortable. Having two would be a dream come true.
