Facebook is an easy and convenient way to conduct government surveys since it has become such a popular social networking site. Similar Facebook surveys can be done for other organizations such as libraries. This way the library can improve its services to the people in the community and can network with other libraries from distant communities.

Great article! I didn't notice too much for addressing a specific problem that a lot of government organizations have mentioned as being their main limitation for getting involved on fan pages - apparently since every online resource is public record, thats a big barrier for administrations. So if you post information to the fan page they can use that information or even look at your profile info. Does anyone know the specifics on loopholes to get around this so that government organizations can get involved more?!

I agree that govt. should be using the power of micro-polling to keep a finger on the pulse. zoomerang is a powerful tool for creating polls and surveys. The real-time reporting and stats are outstanding. Worth a look http://snurl.com/facebooksurveys
