Mrs. Freshley’s is offering a $1,500 American Express gift card to the winner, with a $500 card going to the person that nominates the winner. Anyone can tap someone in their network that they feel deserves the accolade by uploading a photo, brief description and reason why they think their nominee should represent the brand.

The company’s fan page currently has a little more than 11,500 followers, and the community is fairly active posting to the wall. There are also a couple of fan-submitted photos and a little information on the brand and its offerings, and the Mrs. Freshley’s staff contributes regularly in the news feed.

Run through a tab on the page, the contest runs through Nov. 9, and in addition to the $1,500 prize, the winner will be featured on the company’s Web site and may be used for future merchandising and advertising campaigns.

What a great marketing idea for the company! For relatively little cash outlay, they are getting super huge exposure, not to mention the ‘face’ coming to them instead of them having to go looking for someone to use.
    Very clever :)
