How to Make Facebook Lite Your Default Site

If you’re like some people in the US and around the world, you’ve already decided you prefer Facebook Lite, the extremely simplified version of the Facebook site, the one that loads really fast on most any connection, but doesn’t have groups, chat, third-party applications available.

Now there’s a new way to make it your default, so that you see Lite whenever you go to the main www.facebook.com URL. Here are the steps to take.

1. Go to lite.facebook.com. Click on the Settings image (the wrench). Then, in the settings interface, click on the “Default Site” option:

2. You’ll be taken to a screen that gives you the option to make Lite your home Facebook site. Click on whatever you prefer. (Notice, in the screenshot below, that Facebook is advertising this option within Lite.)

3. If you’re not sure, you can toggle the “Let me switch between Regular Facebook and Facebook Lite.” This way, you can either be on either version of the site, and see a blue bar at the very top of that version asking if you want to switch to the other.

And, the view of the blue bar from “Regular Facebook.”

Every version of Facebook needs the default Facebook version choice,

They could also have a default site category in the Facebook versions available to Mobile/Cell(phone) users (opt-in for preferred version: mobile, touch [traditionally the I-phone version – but rename is also appealing to those of similar devices like Nokia N-Series and the on the rise Touchscreen Mobile/Cellphone era), lite and FULL)

There seems to be a bug with this feature. If I choose Regular Facebook as the default and check the box to toggle back and forth, the bar with the toggle link doesn’t show up. I have to select Facebook Lite and check the box to make it appear.

the method you told is not working…….i want to switch back to the version which was there automatically when I joined facebook( I think it was facebook lite)….then i saw an option that try facebook lift or anything else like this(which meant that it is a faster version)….. i cant remember exactly. I clicked over it & from then i am unable to see the automatic updates from the applications i have joined on my profile and home page, so i want to switch back to the former version. If you can suggest anything..
