Nick. The coupon offer is a completely different offer then the free sample.

The free sample campaign started and ended weeks ago. The coupon offer is to build the fan base and will be delivered to the fans via a Facebook application which will allow fans to print the coupon and take to retail. There is not a "bait and switch".

The real story is that the offer was for a free bottle, not a BOGO (Buy One Get One) coupon. Using a bait and switch is not a very good way to build a loyal following.

Isn't the joke with these though that you can always get to the fan page without becoming a fan (or even without being on Facebook), so it can't necessarily increase fans (although in this case it's promoting the product so that's OK). I'm not sure why Facebook won't let Pages restrict which tabs the public can see.
