Sarah Palin Turning To Facebook To Spread Her Political Views

The Republican Party may not have made the best use of Facebook in last fall’s elections, but If you’re looking to keep tabs on the latest Sarah Palin news these days, your best bet is to become a fan of her on Facebook.
The former Alaska governor’s Facebook Page has experienced rapid growth since her resignation a few weeks ago, as fans rely more and more on her posts to get information about her political views and future plans.
Palin made no secret of her distaste for the media during her final speech as Alaska’s governor, and it appears she’s decided to speak directly to her followers rather than through television and newspaper reports that she claims distort her words.
Palin has amassed a base of almost 800,000 Facebook fans, and it’s obvious that her message is reaching much farther than that. In her critical post on the current debates involving the future of healthcare, Palin struck a nerve by accusing President Obama of creating a system that would involve “death panels.” The phrase quickly caught on with people on both sides of the argument, and the White House even responded to the post through their own online avenues.

This isn’t the first time a politician has turned to Facebook and social media to further his or her message. President Obama was very successful using both Facebook and Twitter to garner support. But unlike her predecessors that have used social media to reach constituents, Palin is not hitting the political trail or appearing on many television shows. Instead, she is currently relying largely on social media to reach out to the public, and so far she’s succeeding.

This may come as a surprise to those that feel social media caters mainly to young people, but Palin has been successful reaching older demographics, which is also testimony to the growing popularity of Facebook among older users.

Hello Sarah:
Sad that so many feel the need to attack rather then to seek solutions.
The left and even some on the right have quick crit and miss the point.
I can so relate!
Just wondering if we are related in any way. Of course you look like me I am a tad older. A little survey on FB said that we were in agreement only 60% of the time. I had to laugh because the questions included remarks like does Sarah use lip gloss.
Hopefully, soon we will meet. McCain sure can pick’em!;) Keep fighting the good fight Sarah!
America is going to need critical care.
Be Blessed!

Palin will have an easy one million fans by the end of August. She called Obama on health care and blew out his knee caps. Today she threw down the gantlet on tort reform. She put up with a lot of media and political jokers but now its pay back.

Sharon Setz, you’re the ignorant one. Tina Fey said the “see Russia from my house” line, not Sarah Palin. If you’re too dumb to tell the difference between a politician and a comedienne’s impersonation, I don’t know how you take yourself so seriously.

Sarah Palin is the most dynamic politician in America. She has an incredible record of accomplishments during her career.
We need this woman in the White House to fix what this loser Obama has screwed up.

you can be assured that she is reaching older folks. I am 76, and think she is the hope and change we need, not what we have now and a lot of my friends of my age agree with me but, I hate to put that much work on any one to clean up the mess bho has got us in, but if it can be done a good woman can do it and Gov. Palin is a good woman.

i have always voted democrat.. but this time i didn’t vote. i was so ashamed of the way obama got in. i am not predjudice but i did know that obama wouldn’t be able to help this country. i felt a good spirit when palin gave her speech. if she had ran and not mccain, she would of beaten obama ..obama isn’t making the decisions.. some nitwit is in there telling him what to do. we need to clean out the congress and start over… God knows who is going to win ahead of time. so we all need to pray for our country.. that he will have mercy on the united state of america. in God we trust@!!!!!!!!!!!
