I think Facebook are chasing the wrong revenue source. Its not a place for Google style advertising.

Why doesn't Facebook serve the network they've formed and earn an income? I'll explain ...

Folks on Facebook comment about events, tickets, services and products they lik and anticipate, but Facebook does not have an instant cash machine for taking orders for things people talk about. Facebook needs something like Google Checkout, PayPal or Amazon Cash. They would attract millions of transactions daily and earn about 4% from all of this.

If Facebook does not introduce this I feel either Amazon, PayPal or even Google will buy them out and show them how it is done.
