Facebook Coming to Xbox Live This Fall – Now You Can Share Xbox Games with Facebook Connect

Facebook has just announced integration with Xbox Live at the E3 Expo in Los Angeles this morning. Now, users can can update their status, post photos, and play games with friends directly within Xbox Live.
In addition, Electronic Arts announced that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010 would integrate Facebook Connect on Xbox when it is released this fall, marking the first Facebook Connect integration on a gaming console ever. Now, users can link their Xbox Live GamerTag to their Facebook profile and play Xbox games with Facebook friends through Facebook Connect, as well as easily post screenshots from the game directly to Facebook.
Here’s how it looks:

Ever since the Facebook Platform launched two years ago, Facebook has become an increasingly important platform for online game developers. Entirely new companies have been built on the back of the Facebook Platform, like Playfish, Zynga, and SGN, that are creating the next generation of social games.
However, today’s announcement shows Facebook’s potential as a content distribution channel that could actually lead to more viral growth for games on other platforms. Facebook’s Gareth Davis, hired to head up the company’s relationships with the gaming industry, is presumably talking with other platforms about similar integrations that could come soon.

Hubert- Blu-Ray will fade faster then Betamax. Why go to the trouble and expense of getting a physical disc when your Xbox does Netflix already? HD ready, no damn disc.
What I want to see is Last.Fm integration with Xbox so music I play on the Xbox gets scrobbled/posted as FB status…

I like this news. No, there’s NOT blu ray on the xbox, and NO, facebook is not going on other platforms (not for now at least)
And yeah, I would also love that the xbox at least let the song, youre hearing, written beside the gamertag as in MSN (not status at facebook, friends would feel that they are getting spammed).

PS3 SUCKS
July 26th, 2009 at 1:44 pm
um ps3 would suck if the internet and ps@home Way better than 360 live) wasnt free. It would also suck if microsoft wasnt over 6 BILLION dollars in the hole for its red ring problem, something ps3 has never done. I say buy both system, ps3 for rpgs, xbox 360 for 1st person shooters. And hey guys at least we arent buying fisher price systems- ah yes, what was that called- ah, the nintendo wii. lol
July 26th, 2009 at 11:57 pm

August 17th, 2009 at 6:46 am
this thing is awesome..
August 23rd, 2009 at 7:25 pm
This is badass, Xbox 360 rules, Online Radio that you can progam for what you want, face book so I can show my madden shots and videos and keep connected to my friends, twitter well just an extra blow to the balls sony already blows lol. And all you peeps that say “PS3 has free internet and blue ray.” Well I can get a Blueray at wal-mart or watch thousands of movies on netflix in HD from my Xbox console. And as for the internet you get what you pay for, if you can’t pay seven dollars a month for Xbox live get a job and or a life. Xbox live has so many community features and community games, as well as avatars, Gamer points, and get this the customer service part of Xbox live which we pay for listens to us and now look what we get yayyy.

Great Work…
September 15th, 2009 at 6:40 pm
XBOX sucks! I bet there will be a new problem with it cause by all the knobs twittering and poking people. I hope all you Xbox lovers out there learn soon that they should sell their $*@! and get a PS3 before dies from RROD. Good luck overheating XBOX on purpose or taking apart your systems and trying to fix it with pennies.
oh and Brandon shut the hell up about “you cant afford 7 dollars a month” bitch you cant afford a PS3 that why you stuck with a shitty as XBOX.
Cant believe all you knobs who think Xbox is better than PS3.
HAHAHAHAHAHA

I have a 360 Elite and have had it since about 2 weeks after they released the Elite system and I have NEVER had to send it in for repairs or have had it crash due to the RROD. I play for a good 3-4 hours at a time at least 5 days outta the week and have ever since I’ve had it. If you truly support America then you would stick with American made stuff and not talk down about it and wouldn’t buy a ps3 or if you own one then you would go and sell it and buy a 360. Also, Microsoft, unlike any other game company, could lose money 4 quarters in a row or more and still afford to put out AWESOME products and games for its system. If sony or nintendo lost money for even 2 quarters in a row then they would have to file for bankruptcy. Thanks for the many years of fun Microsoft and LONG LIVE XBOX.
December 21st, 2009 at 11:19 pm
Also another thing is that most of the time XBOX has first dibs on all the best things. With XBOX owners, they might get to own and play a game 2-3 years before it comes out on the bs3…. sorry, I mean ps3. When it comes out 2-3 years later for the bs3, it might have a couple of things extra but there not great at all. The japenese systems are just like the country…. they’re WAY behind America time wise. Japan just got out of the disco age…LOL LOL. Like I said, Thanks Microsoft for the MANY years of fun and LONG LIVE XBOX and its players and supporters.
