Facebook Adds Another Way for Users to Share Pages with Friends: Invitations

pageinvites5While content sharing on Facebook is increasingly becoming oriented around the stream, Facebook recently created a new way for users to share Pages with friends. The new “Suggest to Friends” link directly underneath the profile picture now allows users to send Page invitations to their friends.

Now, page administrators can encourage users to share pages with friends via invitations, just like Facebook applications have been able to do for a long time. And while applications are rate limited to usually around 10-20 invitations per user per day, Facebook is not placing any limitations on Page invitations, apparently because Facebook wants more users to become fans of more Pages ASAP.

Here’s how it looks when inviting users to Inside Facebook’s page:

When users receive the invitation, they can convert and become a fan in just one click.

While the invitation will remain there until acted upon, Page owners should encourage fans to actively share content from the Page in their streams as well.

Yay, love this new add on. Lots of folks ask me about how to get fans… they’ve been looking for an “invite” feature just like friends. So the Suggest to Friends is a decent start! ;)

  3. Facebook App Developer says:

Its very good that facebook ads like fan pages. Your some friends become fan of it so its good for groups and fan pages.

The post was good. But why is`nt there anyway, you can suggest facebook page to people, who are notin your list. Is there?

  5. Gwyn says:

The suggest to friends is still there but where has the send invitation button gone
Is anyone else having this problem with there pages ?

  6. Jack says:

Yes, my Send Invitation button is gone, as well. I suspect Facebook is slowing down the invites as they got a little out of hand. You’ll notice you have no new invites, as well. Not sure if there’s a cap on invites, or what, but it’s ruining a lot of marketing for us.

    Cheers.

Somethings gone wrong with “suggest to friends” application on my page. The format has changed and only lists my friends. No more picture icons. Also the list of names go completely off the page and over my page posts. Also cannot click on anyone to invite. Anyone else having this problem?

    This is messed.

I tried to do this on my band page to our 2700 email list. And it showed the ad and everything looked good…

but now I’m getting a bunch of people who have accepted my friend request to my personal profile, not my band page.

    This is an epic fail.

I’ve just sent friend requests to my whole mailing list.
    WTF?
