Facebook Adds Navigation Bar When Viewing Shared Links

In an effort to increase the amount of commenting on and resharing of posted links, Facebook today added a new navigation bar that users will see when they click on shared links from friends.

The new navigation bar adds a “Comment” button which, when clicked, opens a popup and allows the user to post comments back to Facebook (and view previous comments on the posted item) without leaving the page. A second “Share” button works similarly.

“We want to enable you to comment seamlessly on interesting content you see anywhere on the web and share more easily with your friends,” Facebook said today. The new nav bar will certainly increase the amount of comments on posted items inside Facebook.

I still haven’t encountered this on Facebook, has it been made available in the UK yet? I know the rollout often takes a while to fully circulate all users/regions!

Is this retroactive? I’ve not seen this bar yet.

I have seen this before but I’m sailing on both boats on this one. I dunno if its good or bad. In the past I liked to click a link and wander away from Facebook. now i’m confined to the Facebook garden…
