Facebook Security Flaw Found, Fixed

While Facebook has been actively fighting Koobface worm variants through a multi-pronged response for months, a new security vulnerability was identified by the team at XSSed yesterday. (XSS is an acronym for cross site scripting, a programming technique used to exploit the flaw)

According to XSSed, the issue affected the “developers page, new users registration page, iphone login page and applications page.”

“We take security issues very seriously and these were closed within hours of receiving the reports,” a Facebook spokesperson told us.

Facebook usually fixes issues like this quite quickly. There were no reports of affected users.
