Facebook Switzerland Reaches 1 Million Users, Penetration Reaches 14% of Population

Earlier today, we noted how Facebook has grown at a blistering 400% pace in France in 2008, and now is used by 10% of the entire French population.

Today, Facebook has reached another milestone in neighboring Switzerland: over 1 million Swiss people now use Facebook, or over 14% of the country’s population. The number of people on Facebook in Switzerland has doubled from 500,000 since August.

A significant portion of the Swiss population speaks French, as you can see on this language map.
