The 25 Most Popular Pages on Facebook
May 15th, 2008
Six months ago, Facebook launched Pages as a way for “businesses, brands, and celebrities to represent themselves on Facebook.” Now that Pages have been out for six months, we thought we’d see who’s got the most fans on Facebook.
So here’s the list of the 25 Most Popular Pages on Facebook. The results?
- Amy Winehouse has more fans than John McCain. And so does Nutella.
- There’s no stopping Barack. He has twice as many fans as anyone or anything else.
- Pages are all about the music. 40% of the top 25 are bands.
- Some brands have made a big splash.
What does this say about marketing on Facebook?

What Nutella didn’t beat Hillary? No seriously, Obama being on top of that list shows, that Facebook profiles and groups are not just about fun and entertainment, but more grown up topics (like politics) as well.

What this is lacking is a correlation to their presence on Facebook before becoming a Page. For example, Pink by Victoria’s Secret was one of the first brands to make it big as a group. I’d say that attributes to their success. Likewise you can’t deny that having the first fast growing group of One Million Strong didn’t help Obama.

Where did the Nutella page go? Last week it had 330,000 fans, this week it’s gone. Any news, anyone?
