Inside Facebook Turns Two
It’s hard to believe it’s already been two years since Inside Facebook was launched on April 22, 2006! Inside Facebook was the first blog dedicated to tracking Facebook and, one year later, the Facebook Platform (and now, we track the MySpace, Bebo, Friendster, Hi5, Orkut, and other OpenSocial platforms like iGoogle as well).
Since then, it’s been a lot of fun staying on top of all the innovation, opportunities, and questions that have arisen surrounding Facebook, the Facebook Platform, and the social platformization of the web in general. It’s certainly been an exciting two years – hundreds of posts, many conferences, interviews, guides, and, of course, a startup. Who would have known?
To all who visit this blog or subscribe to the feed, thank you. Your participation and feedback are very much appreciated, and I’m looking forward to the road ahead.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all of you whom I have learned from and genuinely enjoyed getting to know over the past two years. I am humbled by the people I get to work with and talk to here in the valley and in this space. Thanks to Jonathan Lipps, Colin Smillie, Trey Philips, Jesse Farmer, and Nick Gonzalez for your contributions to this blog at various points over the last two years.
And thanks also to our advertising partners. SocialMedia Networks has been a long-time partner of this blog and, as of today, I’d like to also welcome new advertiser Buddy Media to Inside Facebook!
Today, the questions for developers and marketers are as wide open as ever. As each platform evolves, tactical and strategic decisions are becoming even more complex. I hope Inside Facebook can be a helpful resource for you as your company evaluates its Facebook and social networking strategy over the coming year.
And as always, please feel free to be in touch any time!
Cheers,
Justin
