It looks like Facebook has deprecated the Networks tab that sits in the top nav bar with tonight’s push.

No Facebook Networks

(Other links to the page still exist on the profile page and in search results.) I’m guessing traffic to the Network page was lower than expected, given that the Network page experience is not heavily tied to your friends and basically feels like a big (and often more spammy than “local”) Group.

You can still access network pages. On the profile pages, the Network names link to the old page.

no comments yet! *shocked* more so about networks links and having to be forced around the harder way (via profiles)as networks are more common then gifts (London, Bristol [uk], New York and other regional/town networks are popular for facebook hangouts. maybe in time there might be FB Chat (Networks – with those a room for those in your network/ and a few say for all/ countrywide networks). With gifts does this indictate that facebook not getting as much liked for there US$ per day/gift!

i think theres still a lot of opportunity here for facebook to create highly local social network presences based on networks (e.g., english-speaking expats in asia, in latin america, etc) – since most of the social nets there are local language

From Help page ‘We removed the “Gift of the Day” home page box and the top menu “Networks” link.
The “Gift of the Day” box and the top menu “Networks” link were removed in order to make the site simpler. …’

FB must of retracted the gift of the day as its back again on the homepage (in New Stuff) well at least today – its has a free gift on offer (Do not distrub) it might just be once as its free and disappear again when non free or they reversed their decision(but there been no change to the help page or maybe they just liked me or i noticed a bug
