Has anyone expierienced with these ads? I recently ran one to a very specific target audience (fewer than 20 people), to show to someone and he refreshed his profile multiple times. Any ideas about the frequency in which your ads are run? Thanks!

Yes - all about the trusted referral! Theory is that if you can get a message into someones Feed it will then spread virally throughout their network.

So spreading the word about it is where the money is made. That is an interesting concept.

I have just seen the first UK presentation of the Facebook Ads platform - Owen van Natta (Facebook's Chief Revenue Officer) flew in to bring everyone up to speed at IAB Engage 2007 in London.

It is free to create ad pages, the cost comes in spreading the word about them (through updates to Feeds, targeting etc.)

The Social Ads model (the bit you pay for) looks very clever. An advertiser will upload a product tag line and a product image. If a user interacts with an ad page an update will be included in the feed and this will be combined with the ad message. (Eg if I bought a new pair of trainers my feed would describe my action, credit the brand and also show a picture.)

I have written a bit more about it on my blog here: <a href="http://www.nickburcher.com/2007/11/owen-van-natta-from-facebook-presents.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.nickburcher.com/2007/11/owen-van-natta-from-facebook-presents.html</a> and will update this once I have had the time to play around a bit with the new Facebook system - planning to create a www.nickburcher.com page to support my blog!

We were one of the Analyst firms that were pre-briefed on the announcement and have done some thorough analysis on the announcement.

We don't just say WHAT is happening, but WHY it matters

Have you read the facebook blog post or wiki post on the new "facebook pages"? I'm wondering when they go live and how much, if anything, they are going to cost.
